July 4 – July 14, 2009 – Orlando, FL USA – International Avatar Course – Ed Hale will take some time off from the insanity of “new album promoting” to venture inward for some quiet contemplation and consciousness exploration; participating in the largest Avatar Course ever (over one-thousand people from all over the world are signed up and flying in) and encourages fans and friends to join him if they have a chance. “I took the Avatar Course for the first time in 1995 and still hop on courses whenever I can. What is it?” (laughs) “It’s actually easier to answer than most people think at first. It doesn’t have anything to do with religion, although it feels very spiritual when you’re on the course… just because things slow down so much… it really gives you a chance to feel that spark of divinity that is inside each of us. It also doesn’t have anything to do with meditation, though the courses are very, very meditative… I mean your whole life and the way you think about things slows way, way down, for the first time ever for many people; it is very pure and relaxing and beautiful in how meditative it is. But it’s also very upbeat and fun and exciting because you are working on becoming the best you that you can be… and there is really no limit to that, is there? Other than the limits we place on ourselves. So it’s like the course teaches you how to see those limits and let go of them if you want to. So you can create a more successful and exciting life. At its core you could say that Avatar is a series of self empowerment or self exploration courses that teach a body of knowledge – much like the movie The Secret, which came out decades later but really took the world by storm… that movie hints at what one learns on the Avatar Course, but it’s really limited in scope compared to what you learn on something like the Avatar Course… It’s really a bunch of courses where you learn a ton of really useful tools to better handle day to day life and create the life of your dreams. You shed lifetimes of collected crap in less than ten days. In a nutshell. So it’s very liberating in that sense. In a word, it’s awesome. I try to take at least one of their courses a year no matter how busy I am or where I am in the world. It’s one of the coolest games being played on the planet right now that I know of.”
