Ed Hale and his Transcendence bandmates just released a brand new single this week, a reflective and thoughtful song entitled “American Cinematheque” that portrays life as if each of us exists in a painting or film of our own creation. The song is an upbeat summer-driving tune, almost joyful at times, which paints a stark contrast to the news of the moment. Click here to listen on Spotify
”Yeah, learning that the first single was going to come out at the start of summer definitely played a role in choosing this track to be the first,” said Hale. “Some kind of protest or peace or issue-oriented song would have been the obvious choice at a time like now. And we’ve got plenty of them. But I started wondering if that wouldn’t just be adding more to the noise and negativity that’s become almost never ending now… What if instead we released a track that was more joyful? That made you feel good? At least for this first one…”
In what promises to be an avalanche of new material coming out over the next 12 months from Hale and band, Dying Van Gogh Records says that it has at least 9 new singles and 3 new albums ready for release, with an additional 2 compilation sets and an anniversary remix album.
The same lineup who have recorded the band’s last 12 albums were also responsible for “American Cinematheque”. Ed Hale on guitar and vocals, Fernando Perdomo on guitar, keyboard and vocals, Roger Houdaille on bass guitar and keyboards, Bill Sommer on Drums, Matthew Sabatella and Karen Feldner on vocals. The song was written by Ed Hale, Produced by Perdomo, Houdaille and Hale, and mixed by Zach Ziskin.
“American Cinematheque” can be streamed on the usual digital music platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music and YouTube Music
